SELF–RELIANCE
In order to encourage self-reliance, the school established small-scale projects which give support in one way or another such as:

KIOSK:
We have a kiosk to keep the children in the school compound and to stop them from buying things from other places during the school hours.  However, this is just a service rather than profit- making business.
The school does not only aim at developing the minds and mental  abilities of the children.  Here pupils buy soft drinks at the school kiosk during break time.

DAIRY AND POULTRY:
The borders benefit a lot from both dairy and poultry products.
Poultry is among the school projects.   The school has got few cows, which provide us with milk, especially the boarders.
The school keeps chickens, which benefit the school in different ways such as getting eggs, manure and meat.

FRUITS AND VEGETABLES:
In a small-scale project satisfy some of our methods of imparting knowledge and other human necessities. The school has got many projects; one of them is the school garden.  In the garden different crops are grown; those include pawpaws, guavas, tomatoes, spinach, cabbages, bananas etc.

ACHIEVEMENTS:
Apart from academic success for the past six years, the school has succeeded to achieve the following:

1996

·        The school buildings, boarding and teachers’ quarters were repaired and rehabilitated.

1997

·        Computer classroom was built.

1998

·        Ten computers were bought to facilitate the school work. The pupils started learning about computers, especially standard seven students.

1999

·        A new school vehicle was bought – Toyota Land-cruiser hard top.
·        We received the second class certificate of inspection.

2000

·        We completed construction of the library and two stores.

2001

·        The school fence around the school was built.
·
New gutters were built; sewage systems and septic tanks were repaired.
·        The school and Convent were repaired.

2002

·        An adequate cooking room was built.
·        All of the pupils except two passed their national examination. Out of 46 pupils.
·
The school was awarded the first class certificate of inspection.
·
We succeeded to get the academic shield (trophy) introduced by the Isamilo Ward in 1998. Now we posses it permanently after winning it for four years consecutively.
·
Electronic mail was installed to enhance communication world-wide. The email address is “nyakahoja@africaonline.co.tz”

Out of charity, the school has continued carrying the burden of educating about five to six pupils (orphans) who lost their parents in the recent years. For example,  in 1999 – 2000 they were five, six in 2000 - 2001 and four in 2001-2002.
