REGULATION OF THE HOLY FAMILY SCHOOL (NYAKAHOJA)

1.  The Holy Family School is an integrated Primary School (a preparatory class included), having English as Medium of instruction and Kiswahili as one of the subjects.
2.  The School year is divided into two terms.  
3.  Paying school fees must be done between 24th –7th of each month for day students. This is to help the parents who are not able to pay per term or annually.  The school fees can be paid monthly for three months, half a year or annually.  The school fees is 20,000/=Tshs per month, and   240,000/=Tshs. per year for day pupils. The boarding pupils pay 520,000/=Tshs per year, half of which should be paid at the beginning of each term.
4.  Health and Welfare: The Head-teacher or class teacher should be informed about any medical problems a child may have.  Children suffering from infectious or epidemic diseases should rest at home until they get cured.
5.  The school hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The dismissal time for Preparatory
and Standard One pupils is at 12:30 p.m. On Mondays, Standard One pupils go home at 2:30 p.m.
6.   Parents are asked to make sure that their children attend school and report to school not later than 7:45 a.m. from Monday through Friday. The parents are expected to pick-up the children as soon as class time over.
7.   School uniforms include; two Grey shorts or skirts with white blouse or shirt. Black shoes, white socks, and a blue sweater are compulsory for both boys and girls. These school uniforms for both boys and girls are available at school. 
8.  Catholic Religious instructions are given, but are not obligatory for non-Catholics. For non-Catholic children, there is an opportunity to follow their own religious instructions in case a teacher of their denomination is available.

ADMISSION POLICY:  
Pupils to be admitted into the school are registered on the basis of a personal interview, during the third and fourth week of October each year. Those pupils selected are welcome to join the school at the beginning of the coming year.

PREPARATORY CLASS ADMISSION:
When seeking admission to the preparatory class, the child should be 5½ to 6 years of age.  The following should be observed:
1.    
The children who stay within the school ward and division are given the first priority.  
2.    
The parents or guardian have to bring the birth certificate with the child during the interviews.  
3.    
Children who happen to have elder brothers or sisters at the school are given priority if their parents are ready to fulfil the school requirements.
4.    
Parents or guardians have to accept the conditions for admission given by the school in case the child passes the interview.
